North East Vegan Gathering

North East Vegan Gathering

The North East Vegan Gathering is now in it’s second year, and is being held in a beautiful scenic part of the world, at Morpeth, Northumberland. It takes place between 3rd-10th April 2009. The accommodation is in lovely self catering holiday homes, located together in a group, set in 75 acres of parkland. Each house sleeps up to 10 people. There is a games room for the children on site, where all the games are free of charge, and a playground outdoors. It is possible to book a whole house, or just a room. Availability is limited, so bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

There will be a lot going on during the week, ranging from walks in the countryside, outings in the local area, talks, food tasting, meals, family fun days etc. There will be some raw food workshops, and the chance to meet many like-minded interesting people. If you would rather just relax, there is no obligation to join in with the organised activities. The holiday is suitable for families, singles, and couples; basically, there will be something for everyone.

The North East Vegan Gathering is a non-profit making event run by members of VegNE. To find out more, and to access the booking form visit http://www.vegne.co.uk/vegan-gathering/

Threelac temporarily unavailable

November 4, 2008

We have temporarily removed Threelac from our website as it is unfortunately no longer a vegan product. The manufacturers of Threelac have recently added casein to this product. Casein is an ingredient derived from milk and although Threelac only contains 12 parts per million of casein, we feel strongly about only supplying vegan products. Therefore we have removed Threelac from our website for the time being while we investigate our options. We know Threelac is a popular product and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

World Vegan Day

World Vegan Day

November 1st is World Vegan Day and the start of World Vegan Month, organised by the Vegan Society. Their theme this year is improving the quality & availability of vegan food and the Vegan Society is approaching large chain restaurants in a bid to get a better range of vegan options on the menu. Join the campaign by asking your local restaurant to add more good-quality vegan meals to their menu – and whilst you’re at it, take a recipe or two from Shazzie’s Raw Britannia ebook (available to download for free here) and ask them to add some raw meals to their menu too!
